China invented an invincible ‘super machine’ capable of building bridges at lightning speed and lifting objects up to 1,000 tons: Workers are left with nothing

China is one of the world’s leading countries in construction technology. The country once caused a stir when it built a 57-storey building in just 19 days or completed 1 floor of a building several hundred meters high in 4 days.

To achieve such rapid construction capabilities, China has invented a series of machines that integrate the most advanced modern technology. One of them is Kunlun – a war god that builds bridge girders weighing up to 967 tons with the ability to lift heavy objects that “no one can match”.

Kunlun was put into use to build the Meizhou Bridge – China’s first cross-sea expressway bridge – connecting the two cities of Xiamen and Fuzhou, Fujian province.

Hanjiang Heavy Industry – a state-owned unit of China Railway 11 Bureau Group (Hubei) commented that the giant machine Kunlun has added “motivation” to the country’s high-speed rail construction industry to develop day by day, while realizing cross-sea railway routes.

The Kunlun is 9.3 meters tall and has 15,000 parts. It was developed and manufactured by the China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC), a state-owned construction company.

Zhang Guangming, chief engineer of the company, said: “During the design and construction stage, we considered safety measures to operate the machine in extreme weather conditions, such as strong gusts of wind.” The machine is known to be integrated with a very modern ventilation system.

In addition, the Kunlun is also equipped with a laser sensor system that detects radar. It can operate accurately in dark tunnels and automatically correct deviations during construction. The Kunlun also integrates many other intelligent functions. This is the first equipment that can be used to build double girders for high-speed railways in China.

“It is the world’s leading bridge construction machine, capable of lifting and transporting bridge girders weighing up to 1,000 tons, developed, designed and manufactured by China itself,” the expert affirmed.

According to Innovation Essence, this giant bridge construction machine can help speed up the construction process – saving more than 25% of time and reducing the total construction cost by 20%. It is the first machine in the world that can handle such heavy box girders weighing up to 1,000 tons.

In terms of operating mechanism, Kunlun is capable of carrying heavy concrete beams during the moving process. Then, lift and place this concrete beam between the two bridge pillars accurately. The next bridge beams will be carried out in the same steps.

Normally, bridge construction machines can transport and assemble bridge beams weighing about 900 tons and 32 meters long. But Kunlun has done more than that by increasing this number to 1,000 tons and 40 meters.

The successful application of Kunlun bridge construction machine has marked a breakthrough in technology and equipment for high-speed railway construction in China.

In addition, although it requires less manpower than conventional bridge construction, Kunlun still needs a team to supervise the entire process, and cleaning and maintenance staff for various parts. Up to now, this machine has successfully carried out several construction projects in China. It is considered one of the most “monstrous” bridge building machines in the world construction industry.
